What’s happening in the life of Children’s Ministries
“What’s happening in the life of Children’s Ministries?” you ask. Well let me fill you in on what we have been up to! The last week of March, leading up to Palm Sunday, the children of MPC were “EGGED”! With the help of our faithful volunteers, each child received their own Easter Basket filled with 12 colorful eggs. One of the eggs was empty to signify the empty tomb on Easter morning and the Resurrection of Jesus. Also in each basket was a Gold Egg that contained an object found in a traditional set of Resurrection Eggs. The remaining eggs were filled with sweet treats 🙂
On Tuesday, March 30th, the children brought their “Resurrection Egg” item to an Easter ZOOM call to share, and to illustrate Jesus’ journey to the cross on Good Friday. As we say in Children’s Ministries, “HE IS RISEN”, tell all your PEEPS!
On Tuesday, April 6th we concluded our Spring Session of TNT (Tuesday Nights Together) learning about the Fruit of God’s Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Maybe you have seen some photos of our time together. With an amazing group of 5 volunteers and 20 children in attendance (our largest group in recent years), we enjoyed fellowship and fun all while staying safe.
On our final night of TNT we concluded with our traditional service project. The children decorated gift bags and filled them with a cake mix, can of frosting, candles and a small age-appropriate gift, to be donated to one of MPC’s Mission Partners, the Moorpark Pantry Plus. These “Birthday Bags” will be distributed by the Food Pantry to children with upcoming birthdays.
Be watching for what’s next in Children’s Ministries for Summer 2021!
