Meet The Band-Tristan Garcia

  • March 18, 2021

My name is Tristan Gajate-Garcia and I was essentially born and raised in the San Fernando Valley to a musical family (i.e. World renown percussionists father Richie and brother Roland Gajate-Garcia).

I have a BA from CSUN in Trombone performance and recently graduated from USC with a Masters in Gerontology as I am currently the Regional Activities Director for Senior Resource Group Communities in the So-Cal area.

I have performed with artists such as Latin Grammy Award winners Alejandro Fernandez, Elvis Crespo, Gilberto Santa Rosa and have toured with names such as Salvador Santana and Persian icons Googoosh and Ebi. I have performed on such shows as American Idol, The Voice, Latin Grammys and Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and have performed with groups such as the Orlando, Kansas City and Toledo Symphonies with artist Jim Curry and his tribute to John Denver. I also was most recently the trombonist for Kim Clement and the House of Destiny Ministries before joining MPC.

I have known Alex Nester for over 20 years and have had the pleasure of being her bassist for a good portion of that time and am grateful to continue that tradition with the church.

I have two sons, 4 and 1, that keep me on my toes and teach me new things about life every day.

Music is a love and a passion and I am thankful to be able to share that gift to make a difference in the world.
