Where did you grow up? I was born in Birmingham Alabama. At the age of 5, my dad received a promotion and we moved to Long Island, New York where I was raised. In 1987 I moved my family to Moorpark.
Hobbies? Love walking, exercising, gardening, the beach & time with friends.
Favorite vacation spot(s)? Loved Tahiti and traveling in Europe, Virgin Islands, Turkey and Greece.
Currently love traveling to Missouri to see my son & granddaughter Lauren.
What’s your role and what do you look forward to with being an elder/deacon? My role is Elder to Children’s Ministry. I am so looking forward to working closely with Kami. I will enjoy Session Meetings and the insight they will provide me. Also looking forward to working more closely with Keenan
How long have you been at MPC & what’s your favorite experience at MPC? I’ve been at MPC since 1987. My favorite memories are raising my 2 children at MPC and the many fellowship activities as well as seeing all the church buildings going up!
What’s your favorite bible verse? 1st Corinthians 13 Love is patient….
You can go to lunch with anyone on earth right now – who are you eating with? I would chose my sister as that would mean she would be healthy enough to go … she has been dealing with long term health issues.
The Most profound book (outside of the Bible) has shaped you or challenged you? Diet for a New America changed how I looked at food. Max Lucado books enhanced my faith as well as Karen Kingsbury. Many more as I really enjoy reading.
One kind of ice cream: Carrara’s Stracciatella Gelato YUM
Favorite pair of shoes: My Hoka’s (sneakers) or Havaianas (flip flops)
FUN Fact: After I was laid off from my career in Electronics in 2003, I went back to college at 50 to pursue a nursing career. I started bedside nursing in January 2010 & retired January 2020, incredible timing as I missed having to work during Covid. I was able to achieve my dream job as a nurse in Mother/Infant care.
