A little bit about my family: Ryk and I have been married for 41 years. We were high school sweethearts but didn’t get married for 8 years. We are both retired. I worked as an RN for a Home Health and Hospice company. Ryk worked as an account support manager for HPE. We have 2 grown boys (Joshua and Andrew) and a niece (Lauren) that we helped raise. Our oldest son, Josh, is single and lives in Simi Valley. He works at Opto Diode where he does equipment testing. Our youngest son, Andy and his wife Rachel, live in Ventura. He works for Patagonia as a graphic artist. Our niece, Lauren, is married and has one grown son, Dylan, who is in the Navy. Lauren and her husband Gary live in Camarillo. Lauren works as a quality inspector and Gary works for Mercedes Benz.
Ryk and I moved our family to Moorpark in August of 1997. We moved from Moreno Valley.
I’ve been a member of the Church for 2 years but have been coming on a regular basis for about 4 years. Before that I attended the women’s retreats and Christmas Teas.
I’m so excited and honored to be asked to serve as an elder. I love serving Jesus in any way that I can. I’m excited too as I feel this will help me grow in my faith and by doing that, I can help others grow in theirs.
My favorite restaurant in Moorpark is CJ’s. Though now that Chris has sold it, we will see. When he was the owner, he played Christian music and now they no longer do that. So, I’m open to suggestions.
My favorite vacation spot is a tough one. I’d say I love to see God’s beauty in nature. I loved Yellowstone, Italy, Scotland and just returned from a trip to Ireland and Croatia.
Next time you see me, ask me about my quilting.
